Connecting client WordPress sites via the agent plugin
A step-by-step guide to installing our agent plugin and securely linking WordPress sites to your agency dashboard.

Download and install the WordPress plugin
To monitor and maintain a client site, connect it to Destiny Manage using our lightweight WordPress plugin agent. Download the plugin ZIP from the WordPress Plugin tab on the Websites page, which also shows the current version, what the plugin does, and its changelog. In the target WordPress site admin area, navigate to 'Plugins' -> 'Add New' -> 'Upload Plugin', choose the ZIP file, and click 'Install Now' and 'Activate'.
Create an API key
In your agency dashboard, open Websites -> API and create a key. This key authorizes the plugin to sync the site's WordPress core, plugin, theme, backup, and activity data to your dashboard, and enables safety audits and safe update triggers. You can scope a key to a specific client when you create it: any site that connects with that key links to that client automatically, so you do not need to match it by domain later. Leave the client blank for a general key that matches sites by domain instead.
Activate the link inside WordPress
Back in the WordPress admin panel, open Settings -> Destiny Manage (not a top-level sidebar item, it lives under the standard Settings menu). The API key is the only thing you paste in now: the site name and address are read from WordPress automatically, so there is no separate display-name field to fill. Save the key and the agent performs a secure handshake, reports the active plugins and themes, and runs a baseline safety check. Connector 1.6.0 and newer also begins queuing new WordPress activity for the agency log. Renaming the site in WordPress settings updates it in Destiny Manage on the next sync.
Where the site shows up
After the first sync the site appears on the Websites page. A key scoped to a client files the site under that client immediately; otherwise, if a client already has a website with the same domain, the connection attaches to that website's card automatically. Either way you see its WP and PHP versions, available updates, security issues, and last sync time in one place, and you can link or unlink the site to a client from the WordPress tab.
